Life's a bitch

Let's just say I'm 'riding the crimson wave'. My abdomen aches, though not as badly as earlier. I think the painkiller I took is kicking in. I think the ginger ale I'm drinking may be helping with the queasiness, too. But if it's still crazy annoying, I may ask my dad to pick up my stuff from the library for me.

I'm also in a Billy Idol mood. Then again, after youth group last night, I'm in a real 'screw you, you bastards' mood. I'm getting real sick of those jerks. I suggested that we go to one of the fair trade stores, only I said the one in Ottawa, and somebody screamed that there's one on such-and-such street, and Stephen was like, "Well, you're not being very specific, why would we want to go there?" And yet when Adria brought up the topic of helping out a bakery in Dundas (all the way in effing DUNDAS...), everyone seemed to be on board. WTF?! Not all of us live near Dundas!

You know what? I'm just gonna skip next week, since they're all being a bunch of assholes. They don't deserve my time. Every time I suggest something, it either gets shot down by someone, or people listen but never make a note of it. And I still don't know where our binder went. I don't think anybody's bothered about organizing, and the binder is proof of that because nobody wants to bother looking for it. Last time I asked, Stephen didn't know where it was. He doesn't give a shit. And last night when Renee and Nora were screaming, Stephen didn't do much. Honestly, who's the leader here?!

And the worst part is that there aren't any other programs for my age at the church. I'm too young for the Young Adult potlucks, and I'm only an adherent, so I can't join any committees. I haven't decided if I want to become a member or not. I don't see the point, because I may be going off to university, for all I know.

I think I'll just take the rest of the month off. We probably won't be planning at the next two meetings because most of them have exams. Maybe I'll go to knit night instead. Serves them right.

Lack of kickboxing has made me bitter.

It's cold, man

It's bloody freezing here, but I don't mind too much because it is the tenth of December, after all.

Katie's supposed to be coming up on Sunday. Or Monday. I can't remember, but she's only staying a day because she's buying a car with some money from Angela (my dad's mother - I refuse to call her my grandmother for several reasons...). I'm probably going to be helping take bake sale orders with the other youth group members. Or maybe I'll duck out after church. Or maybe I just won't go at all.

Now Mom's on the phone with Grandpa. Oh yay.

Anyways, I'm going Christmas shopping with Dad on Monday, so that should be fun. I imagine we're going as early as possible, 'cause if we get there at around nine-ish, nobody has been spraying perfume yet. After about eleven o'clock, people come to the perfume counter and start a-sprayin', and Dad starts sneezing really badly if he gets a whiff of too much or too many perfume(s). We also beat the midday rush of mad people if we hit the mall at around nine.

I e-mailed Nathan again, asking him what the hell he wants for Christmas. Hopefully he'll reply this time. According to Katie, he wants 'Warhammer stuff'. Seriously? 'Warhammer stuff'? And where the hell would I find this stuff? And how much does it cost? I'm probably getting him a holiday scratch ticket pack, a gift card, or a pair of gloves.

Boo, rain :(

Normally I don't boo rain, but this rain is melting the snow, so boo! ;P

Christmas dinner is now sorted out, but I'm not happy with what's happening: Mom's cooking two turkeys and she and Katie are bringing side dishes. Why? Because Grandpa guilted everybody into making a decision about Christmas Day so that it got planned. The jerk.

I probably won't get Grandma's Clapotis done in time. I made a mistake in the pattern, and haven't tried fixing it for a couple of days. I may just ignore it until after Christmas and give it to her for Easter.

Youth group wasn't too terrible. There were some new folks there: Maya, Lana and Sooneah - I think that's how her name is spelled; I'm not entirely sure. I've actually seen Maya and Lana at the church before - Lana I saw at the Passover Sedar a few years ago, and Maya I saw at the flower communion service a few years ago, because she and her brother were helping me and Nathan with the flowers.

I also had a weird dream that I was a volunteer dental hygienist.

In which Merenwen goes bowling, knits a fishnet-like wrap, and eats Halloween candy early

I haven't posted in a while, because my computer is sick. It's at the repair shop.

On Wednesday I went bowling with the youth group. It was pretty fun. I had a headache (I get weather headaches), which was foul, but I dealt with it. We all went in two cars - I was in Riley's mother's car, along with Riley, Adria (Riley's friend), Laura and Peter, who is our new advisor. Or soon will be. What was funny was that we wanted to pass Stephen's car, and when we did Riley rolled down the window and yelled something at them. And we did beat them to the alley - me and Laura even ran to the entrance! ;)

My wrap is done, which makes me happy. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get the pics put up on Ravelry, but I did. Huzzah!

And the other day Mom sent me down to get the Halloween candy (a box of Reese Peanut Butter Cups, Reese's Pieces, and Oh Henry! bars), so we were snacking on a bit of Halloween candy. And me and Mom watched most of Rocky Horror yesterday - we put it on just as Magenta yells, "YOU'RE lucky, HE'S lucky, I'M lucky, WE'RE ALL LUCKY, HAHAHA!" It was greatness. And we might watch Hocus Pocus tonight. Because I have the DVD.

But wait - there's more!

My mother is also a paranoid freak!!!

She doesn't think we should shop at Wal-Mart anymore because she's been watching some documentary, and told me "I don't think we'll be going to Wal-Mart anymore, because of the things they're doing..." Apparently, a bunch of murders and attacks or something like that have happened in Wal-Mart parking lots in the United States. We're in Canada. Completely different country, non?

And the bitch of it? I was just saying yesterday that Wal-Mart has their job application form online, and that I might fill it out and drop it off. She can't stop me getting a job there, but I know she'll guilt-trip me. Then again, I don't have to apply there...

I'm still pissed, though.

No youth group tonight, but there's a potluck at church. I don't think we're going, though, because Mom said something about not being able to get Dad to go. Whatever, I'll stay home and watch Glee at it's regular time instead of at 10:00.

I ate a bun for breakfast

I felt like eating something bland :p

So, yesterday I tried on the white short-sleeved shirt I got from the Zellers clearance rack. It made me feel like Chrissie Hynde in the video for 'Brass in Pocket' ;)

And last night my mom traded pillows with me because hers' was uncomfortable. I didn't even TRY my pillow, and now I want it back. Hers' is so uncomfortable. I was trying to get comfortable, even when I was sitting with the pillow between me and the wall while reading, and it was just awful. So I switched to my old, slightly broken up ObusForm pillow. I want my pillow back, dammit.

Mom got me up at 8 to tell me that I need to be up and dressed in case the guy comes to install one of the doors. I get dressed, I go upstairs, and the TV is on FULL-BLAST on PBS. Grrr. I love PBS, but not that loudly.

Ugh, my head hurts. But that may be from loud music, loud PBS and no water. I forgot to drink some water this morning.

Whoa, it got lighter outside.

So, no youth group tomorrow, but in the e-mail Stephen sent, he suggested that we all go to the potluck and NOT hang around the loft and instead sit at one of the tables and socialize, because we might get a new youth adviser that way. WHY isn't Firefox set to Canadian English when I set it over and over to Canadian English?!?!

We're getting ORGANIZED, DUDES!

Yes. The youth group is finally getting organized and shit. I'm very happy about this.

I'm NOT happy about having to get up at 7 this morning because a dude from Lowe's is installing our new side door SOMETIME this morning. I also haven't eaten, but that's because I felt like shit this morning. It didn't help that I was having a good but strange dream and then my alarm clock jolted me awake and NOBODY was up because Mom was sleeping or whatever and Dad's at work, so I had to let the bratty little dogs out and Lulu of course jumped over the baby gate to bother Mom and the dogs spent, like, 5-10 minutes outside and started wailing to come in, and then I couldn't find Goldie, who turned out to be in Smiles' bed, and Mom was all "See? There was no need to panic!" Whatever, mom.

But yeah. Youth group. Pretty exciting. I was the first to arrive, and then Emma and Seanna arrived after me. Emma asked me if I could help her and Seanna with negative exponents or something like that and I was like, "I haven't done that it a long time, so I'm no help, sorry." And Emma was wearing these glasses that she bought at a dollar store and was like, "My grade is so going up now", which was really funny. And then she was eavesdropping on Jeff and Gail (Gail is a member on one or more of the committees, and she's helping us get organized), and whispered, "They're gona kill us!", meaning that they were going to overwork us with all this structure and order, and I was like, "Well, we need some kind of structure..." And Stone brought this super-strong breath spray and sprayed a little bit in Micaela's mouth and she started coughing. She's fine, though. Riley came too, with his friend Adria. She's pretty cool.

And we went into the sanctuary to run through the chalice lighting procedure, and Gail told us when we had to be at the church. I think I'm gonna bring a book in case I'm early. Anyways. Before the chalice lighting stuff they all played sardines and I went to the bathroom, sat on the steps to the loft and sat in the loft until Gail told us we were going into the sanctuary. We went back up to the loft afterwards and decided on what we were wearing to the service, and we decided we'd just wear whatever we feel like. And somebody (I think it was either Riley or Micaela) said something like, "You watch, Stone's gonna come in a speedo." omg, that would be hilarious if he did. He'd turn some heads.

And before we did the whole playing-sardines-and-then-going-into-the-sanctuary thing, Micaela gave us more info on the volunteer opportunity at the Unitarian church in Toronto, but we'd have no adult supervision and we'd be going by bus and by subway, so Mom pulled her 'I'm-not-comfortable-with-the-idea-of-you-doing-that' BS. Whatever, mom.

And then I watched Glee when I got home, which was greatness.

I certainly like my hyphens today. - - - - - - - .

My stomach hurts, and Fruits Basket #5 is overdue

I'm not sure why my stomach hurts. Maybe I'm dehydrated.

And I haven't been able to focus on Fruits Basket #5 much, which is why I haven't finished it yet. It's interesting thus far, though. Kisa is so cute! I love how her haircut is similar to mine. I think Hatsuharu is protective of her.

Youth group was good until they all started playing some stupid game where you have to touch your nose, and then mocked me when I didn't. They were talking so fast that I didn't know what I was supposed to do, which is why I didn't touch my nose. So I left the loft and went to the bathroom. When I came out of the cubicle, Sela was there, and she asked me if I was okay. I didn't respond at first - I mean, they play some stupid game, don't tell me what I'm supposed to do, and mock me for it, and THEN ask me if I'm okay? Whatever. So as I was leaving the bathroom I said, "Why wouldn't I be okay?"

Oh, and our plug-in electric toothbrush is dead. Or, rather, dying. It wouldn't work for me the other day, so we went back to our manual toothbrushes. Then, last night/this morning (it was after midnight, anyway), it came on, and shut off. I think I swore out loud, and then continued brushing. Then it came on again, and I swore louder. When I told Mom about it, she said, "Well, I unplugged it from the wall!" I guess it still held a charge and was clicked on. Eh.

Oh, and I went to knit night on Tuesday, which was cool.

And I think the fall term of the Harry Potter Knit/Crochet House Cup starts in eight days! Yay!

ETA: no, the term doesn't start until September 1st, but the signups end on the 28th. oops!

...hey

I can't think of a good title.

Youth group last night was tiring and gave me a headache, but it was a lot of fun. Sela was there after all - she was supposed to go back to New Mexico, but now she doesn't go back for a little while. Riley was there, too, which was cool because I haven't seen him since he got back from France. Turns out he went to Greece, too. Elyssa was there (gag!), but she wasn't being too bitchy - although she did say something like, "Check-in always lasts the whole meeting!" Whatever, Elyssa. Micaela was there, Stone wasn't (he had a fever, poor guy), umm... Emma came late because she had a soccer game, and I met someone new named Seanna. I'm pretty sure her name is spelled that way, because her name came up in the e-mail about bowling, but she wound up not going for bowling for some reason. I can't remember. But she's pretty nice. Oh, and Laura was there, and she brought this library book that we teased her about because the synopsis sounded kind of inappropriate for a teen book. Or maybe it was the way Micaela read it. Haha. It probably isn't that inappropriate, given that the library lists Breaking Dawn as a teen book, and I hear that it's pretty raunchy. But anyway.

I'm bored. And Coronation Street isn't on for another 44 minutes.

I need water.

...I have water now.

I think I pulled a muscle from knitting. A pectoral muscle, to be precise. Ow.

So I burned a copy of that Green Day CD, but have not yet put it on my computer. I might burn copies of Dad's Pink Floyd CDs. And maybe some other CDs... Zeppelin, I totally need some Zeppelin.

Fun fur and frozen hot chocolate

The title will make sense in a moment.

Mom and I went to knit night at Second Cup tonight, after not coming since January (we had a lot happening). A few familiar faces were there. I worked on my fun fur scarf and drank a frozen hot chocolate and tried to follow the conversation - there were quite a few other people there, and at one point these two guys came in and one of them was talking very loudly. It was still fun, though. Next time I should start a hat and bring that. I printed off Turn a Square by Jared Flood, so that'll be my first hat. Or I could start my Harry Potter scarf and bring that next time. A hat would be more portable, though.

I think I've decided where to apply for a job: Value Village. I think I'd like working there, because I love organizing things on shelves and stuff, and in October they have a lot of customers because they get in a bunch of new and used costumes, and I think I'll have fun helping customers find the right costume. Plus, it's within walking distance! It will only take me 10 to 20 minutes to walk there, depending on weather and traffic, and I only have to cross at one intersection. Perfect. I should probably start writing a resume soon.

Another option is Coles in the mall, or the Golden Griddle. The Golden Griddle I could probably walk to, although it would be a long walk, so I might as well take the bus. My sister said she used to walk to the mall when she worked at a couple of places there, so I could walk to and from the mall. There is a bus stop nearby, though, so I could just take the bus back. It might be safer to walk up and take the bus back.

Tomorrow is youth group. Yay!!! Not only did Mom come up with a couple of ideas for the youth group that I can relay to them, but I'll also get to see Micaela, and probably Riley. Sela's probably back in New Mexico, though - she went back today - so I won't see her. We aren't really friends anyway, more like acquaintances. And OH GOD ELYSSA'S PROBABLY BACK FROM ITALY OH NO. I'm not looking forward to that. Oh well - you can't always get what you want, so say the Rolling Stones, right?

Friday, August 7, 2009

I slept in, and my nose itches.

I'm also waiting for a Facebook message from Riley. He said in Facebook Chat that the youth group was meeting up unofficially to go see a movie, and would I like to come. I tried replying in the chat window, but he had just logged out, so I sent him a PM instead, asking him where they were going and what movie. Dad's on call tonight, so I hope they're going to a nearby theater.

Augh! The craving for Green Day and back to school shopping is unbearable. I've been listening to older Green Day songs via YouTube, because Dookie isn't in at the library for me to pick up yet. The Wrestler is, though, and a book of poems is in transit. Green Day, Mickey Rourke and poetry, yay! :D

I'm annoyed that I forgot about the Festival of Friends. It was on the weekend and it completely slipped my mind. Oh well, it's not as good as it used to be, anyway. I miss Earthsong - it was a cool, artsy festival that happened over the summer. I got my pan flute there (which later cracked, I was so ticked about that), and it was at Earthsong that I had green tea ice cream and red bean ice cream for the first time. And both were delicious. I think I had banana fritters there, too. But they wound up merging with another festival, and the artsy stuff is pretty much gone, except for stuff like jewellry and wooden figurines and stuff. My brother got an ocarina at the Festival of Friends, and since then I haven't found an ocarina that wasn't tiny and barely playable. I should've gotten one when my brother did, but NOOO, I bought a recorder. damn.

The annoying thing about my back to school shopping craving is that I can't think of anything that I need. All I can think of is a new sketchbook. I don't need pens, pencils, highlighters, paper, notebooks... well, maybe a new math and science notebook for algebra, I think mine's getting pretty full. And you can never have too many. OH I JUST REMEMERED I need a planner. Just in case I get a job or take general interest courses at the local college or if I'm allowed back to youth group in the fall. I'm pretty sure I'll be allowed to come back, because back when Martin and Sue were the advisors, we voted to allow older youth to stay in the group as long as they don't bring alchohol and stuff. I'll e-mail Stephen about it. Maybe I'll get an address book, too, so I can keep track of people's numbers for youth group and stuff. Okay, now I need to make a list...

Stuff I Need For Back To School

1. A planner
2. A new sketchbook
3. An address book

That's all I've got so far...

Bleh

The weather started out cool and rainy, and then the rain stopped and it got humid. Bleh.

I actually woke up at a decent time this morning - just before 9:00. Mom was watching a program on Oasis HD about urban wildlife in Toronto. She told me that Teddy was 'stalking' the squirrel on the TV. I wish I could've seen that! I did, however, see Mouse watching the TV when a program about lions was on after the urban wildlife program. I swear, with this HD receiver, I could sit and watch Oasis HD and National Geographic HD all day - while knitting, of course.

Youth group last night was hilarious. We played this game called 'Honey, I love you', where you have to go up to someone and say, "Honey, I love you, won't you please, please smile?" and the other person has to say with a straight face, "Honey, I love you, but I just can't smile." I didn't really play it, though. Also, Sela, Stone and Micaela were hiding each other's shoes, which was funny. And we locked Stephen out of the loft ;p Actually, I think it was either Sela or Laura that locked him out, but I instigated a little ;)

And I watched about half of 27 Dresses.

Fruits Basket, music, and youth group

I feel like writing about Fruits Basket. There's some things I want to say about the characters, so...

Fruits Basket (WARNING: contains spoilers from books 2, 3 and 4!)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I really like Hatori Sohma. What I've noticed lately is that he seems protective of Tohru. I don't know if it's because she's gullible, or if she reminds him of Kana, but he was very quick to accuse Shigure of using her in book 3. And in book 2, when Tohru slipped on the ice, Hatori could have just let her fall, but he caught her, which caused him to transform. I also think that Hatori respects Tohru, because she didn't laugh when he transformed into a seahorse. And I don't blame him for suspecting Shigure, because he does appear to be scheming something - I just don't know what yet.

And then we have Akito. He's a sly one. I'm only a couple of chapters into book 4, so I don't know the details of what he did to Yuki that makes him fear Akito. I was kinda pissed that he told Tohru she was cute, and then tells Shigure that she's ugly and slow. Okay, so she's gullible, but she's not slow!

Back to Hatori... (and no, I'm not making up an excuse to talk about him... I think. haha.) I'm surprised that he's still on speaking terms with Akito. I mean, the man hurt his eye, making Hatori almost blind in one eye, and Hatori, who is the Sohma family's doctor, still looks after him when he's sick! It's uncanny! I wonder if Akito knows there's a photo of Kana on Hatori's desk...

Kyo's unusually protective of Tohru, too. I guess it's because she has a knack for getting into some kind of trouble - and by trouble, I don't mean that she's a bad person, just gullible and sometimes unaware of her surroundings. Like when a guy at their school goes to chat her up, Kyo stands right next to her and kind of guards her from them, and the guy backs off. No one wants to cross Kyo! Well- except maybe Hatsuharu...

And now I've just reached the part where Ayame turns back into human form. He's pretty, though not as dashing (in my opinion) as Hatori :)

Music

One of the perks of getting the HD receiver is that we're now subscribed to Omni BC. They have a program called Nikkei TV, which is a Japanese-Canadian current events show. The first 15 or 20 minutes is a segment called J-Pop TV. They play a bunch of Japanese music videos, which was how I came across a band called An Cafe. I saw their video for their single 'Aroma', and went looking for info on them on the internet. Wikipedia has their discography up, so I sent in purchase requests to the library for their albums, and found the video for 'Aroma' on YouTube.

Youth Group

Youth group was good last night. Stephen was in India for a few weeks, and he brought us each back a bracelet. He also showed off a rug and some figurines he'd bought there, and told us about his trip. Mom made cookies, so she put some in a bag for me to bring with me. Mark, who was also there, liked the cookies. We also ate up the party mix that Stephen brought a few weeks ago.

I also feel like talking about America's Got Talent.

This season's been good. Piers is a little less grumpy, haha. Some very talented singers have been on. I haven't seen a lot of variety acts that I like, though. There's been some illusionists, dancers, and tumbling acts, but nothing... different. I did like the dancers that were on last night, though - the ones that wore the white gloves. They were really good.

I'm appalled...

...at how long my house tie is getting. I worked on it a bit earlier - I think I did two sets of stripes. I'm close to running out of blue acrylic, so I may have to run out to Michaels to get a skein of Patons Canadiana. Damn, I wish we had a Michaels within walking distance!

Smiles was chasing the sprinkler today, which was funny. Dad set up the sprinkler to water the garden, and Smiles is crazy about water. I wonder if it's a Jack Russell Terrier thing, because none of the other dogs are this crazy about sprinklers. Or hoses. God, if you so much as rinse out a compost bin with a hose, Smiles won't leave you alone unless you spray her with the hose. It's hilarious.

So, I might start either an Irish Hiking Scarf, or the Mom's Sophisticated Scarf from Stitch N' Bitch Nation, for Muggle Studies. I really want to start another scarf. As much as I like knitting my house tie, it's a bit of a pain to change colours to do the stripes. The house tie's looking cute, though.

I'm not sure if there's gonna be a youth group meeting on Wednesday, because Stephen's in India for work, and last week was cancelled due to Stephen's absence and Canada Day. We were thinking of having the meeting on Tuesday or Thursday, but I guess Jeff was busy. As for my plans tomorrow, I'll probably go to church (we haven't been in a couple of weeks) and go see Grandma.

Knitter's elbow and connection loss

First of all, yesterday morning, my computer worked fine. Then in the afternoon, it wouldn't connect to the internet.

I haven't posted in a while because I'm trying to give my wrists a break. I pulled muscles or tendons or whatever in my left arm. I noticed it on Monday, and now it's Thursday and I don't think I'm gonna be able to knit quite yet. And, dammit, I'm used to an ergonomic keyboard! And Firefox! Ugh...

Mom and I watched Shock Treatment and The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Monday, which was fun. Tuesday was boring. Yesterday was youth group, which was okay. Elyssa was there, which annoyed me (I had hoped she wouldn't show up), but Riley also came, which was nice, because I hadn't seen him for a few weeks.

Wicked weather

So the weather today is pretty wicked. Rainy and windy. I would walk down to the library, but it's too windy. I love this wind - as long as trees or power lines don't come down, I'm content.

Youth group last night was a mix of good and bad. I was the first to arrive, and the back door was locked, so I sat in the car until Stephen came to unlock it. Around the same time that Stephen arrived, Micaela came. Micaela and Stephen made some Five Alive and, because Stephen brought tortilla chips and salsa, put some salsa in a bowl. Stephen heated up a personal pizza for himself - I guess he skipped dinner. Elyssa came next, then Vicky, Stone, Emma and Laura. We had a super-quick record-breaking check-in (Micaela's idea - and a good idea, too), then we went down to the big tables to make a banner for Elyssa to carry at the big UU Youth conference in Thunder Bay.

This is where things got bad.

We were trying to come up with some ideas for the banner, and at one point I said to Elyssa, "It's all what you want to put on the banner, because you're going to be the one carrying it. I'm neutral, I'm Switzerland." She said, "You're useless. Okay...", ever-so-casually. I was so pissed off I almost called Dad to ask him to pick me up. She said later that she was being sarcastic, but it didn't sound like she was. She didn't even apologize, the bitch...

I had fun, though. Emma did a great job drawing on the banner - I'm not sure if she takes art in high school, but she really has a knack for drawing. She did a couple of chalices (the symbol for Unitarianism), and some text. It was pretty neat. I coloured in one of the big 'U's using markers and a mini stamper. Gosh, I love mini stampers...

And then, as I was leaving, Elyssa asked me, "What are you doing next year? 'Cause, you're grade 12 age, aren't you?" I asked her why, and she asked me if I was going to univeersity. I was so pissed off with her that I said something like, "Well, first I have to prove to the government that I'm smart." She said, "I just asked," and I said, "Well, I wish people would stop asking." She knows full well that I have to take either the GED or the CAAT to get into university. I've talked about it before.

So yeah. Elyssa's a bitch.

I had talked to Micaela on Facebook Chat the previous night. At first I was annoyed, because I was playing either Word Twist or Scramble, but my annoyance didn't last very long. I'm glad that I have a friend in Micaela.

I bruised my foot.

I think I bruised it when I accidentally hit it on the baby gate as I stepped over it - we have a baby gate up across the one doorway to keep the dogs out of the cat litter. It doesn't hurt as long as I don't put pressure on it, and even then it hardly hurts. Last night, though, it stung, as though I had scraped it along the carpet or something.

I forgot to post about my walk to the mailbox last week - I think it was last Wednesday. Mom needed a couple of things mailed, so I walked down to the mailbox. It was a nice walk: I was on my own, and the weather was beautiful. It was a bit of a relief to be on my own for that short time.

Yesterday, Mom and I went outside to take a photo of my blanket square. She took the photo, since she knows her camera better than I do, thus she probably knows how to take a good shot of a handknit object in direct sunlight :) I haven't posted it to Ravelry yet, though, because it's still on her camera.

Did I mention that Aunt Patti is a bitch? Yeah. In a nutshell, she argued with Katie about getting Grandma to Katie's graduation next month. Patti knows very well that: a) Katie has reached the limit of how many tickets she can get, and b) I don't think Grandma cat sit in a wheelchair for that long a time, even if she has an aide with her (which won't work because Katie can only get four tickets), and even if there are wheelchair-access bathrooms. It would probably be too much for her.

Well, that's all. I might skip youth group again, or maybe I'll go. I haven't decided yet. I'm still pretty pissed at Stephen - not just because of the meeting two weeks ago when nobody but me and Stone showed up, but also because he has this attitude that the other members of the youth group come because they want to chit-chat and hang out. And whenever something gets planned, it's at the last minute. And we haven't done much for church-y things except painting and a couple of members selling tickets for something... I don't think Stephen even wants us to do a summer service, because Coming of Age has their service this year. Big deal! So we can't have a service because the Coming of Age kids are doing one? I don't find that fair at all! So what if they're doing a service?! We can do one, too!

An interesting Wednesday...

Yesterday I went to the church for youth group. No one was in the loft yet, so I waited for people to show up.

Stone came. We killed some time for a little while - I doodled in my notebook, and he read a Calvin and Hobbes book that we have in the loft, occasionally reading stuff aloud. Then we decided to try calling Stephen. First Stone tried phoning his mom's cell, then he phoned Stephen, but the number for Stephen in the church directory must be out of date, because the number was no longer in service. So I called Dad's cell, but he didn't pick up, so I phoned the house and asked Mom to have Dad pick me up, then Stone called his house and talked to his mom.

Then me and Stone kinda hung out by the doors. We had a conversation about the fire extinguisher on the wall, which was really funny. It is so going up on Facebook along with some other Quotes of the Week :D

So yeah. I should probably e-mail Stephen and ask him what the hell that was about. There was even a piece of paper on the wall saying that there was a meeting tonight! Why was nobody there?!

Grr.

On the upside, today is the sorting for HPKCHC! :D

Drinkin' pimple juice

Actually, it's pineapple juice, but my mom and I like to call it pimple juice. lol.

So today has been somewhat eventful. We went to the lab because Mom had to have a blood test done, but there were, like, 25 other people there, so we had breakfast at the restaurant in the same plaza. I had a waffle with a side of breakfast sausages. It was yummy. And filling, since it's ten after eleven and I don't feel hungry. I may not eat lunch for another couple of hours.

I tried to do some polynomials, but I may have to redo some of them, because they have mixed symbols - a plus and a minus. I hate those kinds of polynomials, because you have to figure out if it has to be positive or negative. And usually, when you times a positive by a negative, you get a negative (see? I remember at least one of the algebraic principles!), so if you're times-ing the factors at the beginning of the polynomial, you'd wind up with all negatives - but, at the end you have to have a positive in there. So yeah... re-writing must be done before I can say that the polynomials are finished. eep.

My Labyrinth fanfiction is coming along nicely. I've also started a crime story that I wrote down in a notebook a few days ago - basically, I wrote down a paragraph, the plot, and a few character names in the notebook, and today I started it in Word, and it's taking shape better than the paragraph I'd written in the notebook.

So, I don't think I'm going to youth group tonight, because I think Dad's working this evening. I'm not too bothered, though. As long as people don't bitch me out for missing three meetings, I'm happy.

The weather's nicer today. It was chilly this morning, though - about 32 degrees farenheit - so I wore my ski jacket. There's still patches of snow here and there, but not as much as yesterday.

Haven't posted it a bit...

So yesterday was... well, it started out good. Uncle Brent came over for lunch because he and Mom had a family meeting to go to regarding Grandma's health. So we ate sandwiches and watched Rosanne - I had a ham and cheese sandwich, Mom and Uncle Brent had egg salad sandwiches (so that they could fart during the meeting... haha).

It was when Mom got back that the day started going not-so-good. Grandpa is pretty much refusing to believe that the stroke was as harsh as it was.

Youth group was terrible. Everyone kept talking all at once and I forgot to do a check-in or to propose a summer youth service. So now I'll have to e-mail the idea to Stephen. Long story short, I walked out of the loft and sat on the bench for a little while. I tried to give them a second chance, though. I did walk back into the loft. But most of the younger members kept being immature, so I walked out again and waited until Dad came to pick me up. I should have just called him and asked him to come early, but I didn't want to disturb him. Next time, I will call.

Today I woke up twice. The first time I woke up, Smiles was running around my room like a lunatic and then jumped up on my bed. I fell asleep again, and woke up a second time, at around 9-ish or 10-ish. Probably 10-ish, because when I eventually dragged my ass outta bed it was around 11:00.

Didn't do math today, but I did some yesterday while Mom and Uncle Brent were at the meeting. I also finished watching the entire DVD set of Are You Being Served?. I was going to go to the library today, but I might have to go tomorrow...
