I have a love-hate relationship with Lion Brand's site.

First, I fell in love with their free Felted Beret pattern. Then I decided to sign up to get the free pattern. Then it wouldn't let me sign in because my password was 'wrong'. Remembering that Mom had troubles with their site and passwords, I got them to e-mail me my password... which was a random password, not the one I'd picked. Dammit! Why do they ask for a password when they just change it to a random one?!

In other news, I started a mug cosy for Divination, and I'll start my Herbology assignment tomorrow. Wrists are doing okay. Fruits Basket 3 is wonderful - and Hatori slammed a door in Shigure's face! Go Hatori!

FRICK

I feel like crap.

At around quarter to six, the dogs starting wimpering to be let out - holy crap, it's 8:57... Sweet, the local TV station's playing 'Mississippi Queen' by Mountain. Or they were... now it's on commercial. ANYWAYS. I was already awake, but I hadn't slept well because the damn cat was in and out of my room. So I let them out, (note: I just tried listening to music via Windows Media Player, and I can't get the frickin' music library to come up. What. The. Hell.), got a glass of water, and flipped through the program guide until I decided that my choices were limited: at around six in the morning, the only decent stuff on TV is repeats of The Hour and Steven & Chris, so I put on Shine a Light, which was just starting on The Movie Network.

I just tried to get Media Player to work again, but no luck. Dad seriously needs to put iTunes on his computer, because this is driving me almost as crazy as the dogs.

After I drank some water, I started feeling hungry, so I had a bowl of corn flakes. Teddy kept whining because Mom wasn't up yet. And then when Mom came down, she asked me if the doors were all open. Well, gee, Mom, I didn't think of opening all of them, given that the dogs are driving me insane and I'm sleep deprived.

And my arm hurts. So I should probably stop typing now.

I seriously need to make my notes into footnotes. I'll have to make a note of that. A note... haha.

I only have two items waiting for me at the library, and four more in transit. DAMNDAMNDAMN.

A little sore

I worked on my heart illusion dishcloth a lot yesterday afternoon while watching Slumdog Millionaire. The movie was good, and now my arm is aching from all that knitting. Damn.

Anyways. I won't type much, because I want to give my arm a rest, but I will say that I have a bunch of stuff in transit at the library, including Fruits Basket #3! :)

...yep, 'otosan' is Japanese for 'father'. But only when you talk to him. When you talk about him, you use 'chichi'.

I got my dad the new Green Day CD, and we had prime rib burgers for dinner. Mom gave Grandpa some golf balls.

I'm done reading Fruits Basket #2, and I just love Hatori Sohma. I can't wait until #7, because I think that's the one with the page about the Year of the Dragon, which is Hatori's Chinese zodiac sign. I reserved #3, and hopefully it'll be in by Tuesday, which is the day that our DVDs are due. Which reminds me, I have to watch Slumdog Millionaire tomorrow...

Blech, it's gotten humid. That's always fun... NOT!

Okay, so I'm almost done reading Fruits Basket #2. And Hatori Sohma makes Edward Cullen look like... umm... *tries to come up with something original*... a puppy. Yeah, a puppy. Or maybe an awkward, baby elephant or giraffe. My point is, Hatori Sohma is fascinating.

I should make an avatar that says, 'I'd rather have a Sohma than a Cullen', as I also like Yuki and Shigure. Kyo is interesting, too. And Momiji is adorable. And Tohru Honda is so darn optimistic - I think her optimism is starting to rub off on Kyo, actually.

But Hatori. O.M.G. He really grabs my attention. I guess I go for the sorta-kinda 'bad guys', like Sesshomaru. Hmm. I'm an odd one.

Now then. What else has happened? Well, I did a bit of knitting today, and we went out for breakfast. We went to the British imports shop, but they weren't open yet, so we went to Len's, where I got two skeins of Moda Dea Ticker Tape and a couple of odd point protectors. Then we went back to the British imports shop and got some snacks and such.

I'll probably finish Fruits Basker #2 tonight. Maybe I should reserve #3...

Why inconsiderate jerks should not use the library

There's only one reason, really: wrecking books.

I picked up Full Moon O Sagashite #2 from the library yesterday, and when I got home I realised that not only were there pages torn out, but also SECTIONS OF PAGES CUT OUT. I mean, come on! If you want to cut specific panels out of a manga, BUY IT, DAMMIT!!!

So yeah. I'm not happy about that.

However, I am happy that my neck feels a bit better, and that there's youth group tonight. I'll have lots of stuff to talk about during check-in: the water being shut off for five hours on our street, the stupid idiot who wrecked Full Moon O Sagashite #2, Katie's grad, and other stuff. Actually, probably not a lot of other stuff, but eh...

The Long Overdue Post

Sorry about the delay - I'll not write about my sister's graduation.

I woke up at 5:30, and ate a teeny bit, got dressed, got my bag, and then into the car we went. We stopped at the gas station before going on the highway.

It was really foggy that morning. It made me wish my camera worked with my computer, because the fog looked spooky. I read a bit of Blood and Chocolate on the way, but I was kind of groggy so I didn't read much.

We went right to Katie and Dan's apartment, cycled through the bathroom, and then we all crammed into Katie's rental car. And we really were crammed - it was like a clown car. Katie and Dad went in the front, and me, Mom and Dan piled into the back.

The ceremony went by pretty quickly, probably because they brought graduates up in groups of three, and a few of them were absent. Afterwards, we went to the gift shop, because Katie and I both needed flip flops - Katie was getting blisters on the backs of her heels from her shoes, and the top part of my left sandal was rubbing. So we each got a pair of white and purple flip flops. It turned out that I only needed a medium pair. Huh. On the walk back to the lot where we parked, Dad almost took my right flip flop off, making me trip, so I walked way ahead of him. Jerk.

After we stopped at the apartment to cycle through the bathroom again and say hello to Jeffrey (Katie and Dan's cat, for anyone who doesn't know), we hit the road - me and the parents in our car, Katie and Dan in their rental car. We actually passed them on the highway, which was funny.

We were only home for about half an hour or 45 minutes, because the dinner reservation was at 5. So after a brief rest, we got back into our cars - Justin came to dinner with us as a thank-you for dogsitting. Dinner was fabulous.

In other news I have to go to the library on Tuesday. I might walk down if the weather's nice.

A quick post

Katie's grad was fabulous. Dinner was lovely. Grandpa was his usual self - although his usual self is hard to describe sometimes. But I'm super tired, so I'll give you guys a full report after I've regained the sleep I lost.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. In a quick recap of last week, I went to the LYS's tent sale and got five skeins of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in a medium blue, two skeins of Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Lilac, and the only skein I could find of S.R. Kertzer On Your Toes DK in... Mauve Meadow? I think???

Anyways. Today my cousin Justin came up. He's dog-sitting for us tomorrow while we're at my sister's university graduation, and he's coming to dinner with us in the evening. I think my mom said he's staying tomorrow night, too.

So today I got my hair cut. I got an angled bob, which looks neat. I plan on pinning the front sections back with my bluey hair clips. I might also experiment with my bobbley hair elastics. I told my mom after I got out of the chair that I have Sailor Mercury hair, lol.

After my haircut, we went to Giant Tiger, where I got some new PJs (they didn't have a blue set in my size :( ). We got some Cadbury chocolate biscuits, too, and some other stuff. And then we went to Toys R Us to get my sister a 'new car' - a toy car. Justin got some cute Hello Kitty cards and a puzzle for Grandma, and I decided to get some replacement Monopoly money for Katie's grad present ;) We also went to Denningers to get lunchmeat.

We had perogies for dinner (boughten from Denningers), and I tidied the spare bed for Justin (can't remember if this was before or after dinner). I also got some knitting done while me and Justin were watching TV - I worked on my house tie, because I don't have a size 8 circular to make the bobble pillow for Herbology. I have a size 9 one, though. Maybe I'll swatch with that this week.

I also packed my purse for the travel, because we're getting up at 5:30 and hoping to hit the rode around 6:00 or 6:15 - her grad is pretty early, and they're being strict on when they're going to stop letting people in. I have packed:

A Zip-Loc bag with my hair clips, a comb and a small mirror in it.
Two books (Blood and Chocolate and Tris's Book).
My emergency feminine hygiene products wallet.
A pack of gum.

I might also include a couple of tissues and maybe some hand lotion. My hands get pretty dry. I would bring knitting, but given that I'll be in pretty close quarters, I don't think that would be possible, even if it is on a circular needle.

Feeling more normal

I'm almost back in knitting shape - which is great, because I want to get started on my HPKCHC assignments as soon as possible.

I have the theme from Happy Days stuck in my head. I guess it's because I've taken to watching Fraggle Rock at 9:00 and Happy Days at 9:30 whenever The Ellen Degeneres Show is a repeat - which it has been for the past few days. *is irked*

I started reading Fruits Basket the other day, and it's pretty neat. I'll have to put it on my birthday list.

Oh, and I started geometry yesterday. So far it's going good. I'll probably do some later - I'm avoiding polynomials ;) It's actually a pleasant change from polynomials. I'll probably finish my algebra booklet soon, I just need a break from it. Then I can move on to more interesting algebra :)

A good Monday

It's the beginning of another month, and I'm feeling happy :)

There are three reasons why today is a good day:

1. My arm is feeling loads better. I haven't had to take Aspirin as often.

2. The June classes for HPKCHC have been added. I'm taking Charms, Herbology and Divination. I have my projects for Charms and Herbology planned out already.

3. The new items get added to the library catalogue tonight!!!

Also, I'm happy because I finished Full Moon O Sagashite #1 last night. It ended with a real cliffhanger, too! I reserved #2 today, but I'll have to wait awhile because there are two copies and two people ahead of me in line.
