Tent sale!

I went to my LYS's tent sale yesterday. I went $24 over my budget, but dad floated me the extra money and said it was fine. He'll probably have me doing yard work to pay it off, which is fair. I still felt bad about spending $60, though :p I've always felt bad about spending money, though, which is weird because I rarely spend money on myself. The last time I bought myself something was last year when I had birthday money from Grandma and Grandpa, and I bought a skein of Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool, a gauge ruler and some used books from the library book sale. And I think I still had change leftover.

The fact that summer is almost over is kinda freaky. I didn't get to do much because the weather was ridiculously hot and muggy, and things just didn't seem to work out. Oh well, there's always the fall - a season I prefer over summer anyway, because I don't get sunburned.

Anyway, I'm rambling. After the tent sale, I found out at the last minute that Nathan and Steph (my brother and his girlfriend/fiancee) were coming up for dinner, so I had to sweep right away and didn't have time to put laundry in or go on the computer. So, I was freaking out last night and this morning because I absolutely had to do laundry, and I was worried that I had more overdue library stuff, but fortunately, I had already renewed the items. Crisis averted!

I went to the Mary Maxim store's tent sale in Paris, Ontaro! :D

It was pretty awesome. Mom didn't get a lot of yarn - just some Patons Decor in the New Rose colourway - but I got loads of yarn. I got...

I also got a small pair of scissors, two little notebooks with divider tabs, and a needle case.

The drive there was pretty interesting. This one truck driver was swerving all over the place, so we thought he was falling asleep at the wheel. After we passed him, me and Mom looked over, and he was sitting upright and alert. So now we think that he was having problems with his truck.

And then we got lost twice trying to find the road that takes you to the Mary Maxim store. At first we thought we went too far, but when we turned around we saw that we were going the right way after all, and eventually we were on the right track.

After our shopping expedition, we were going to eat at the family restaurant across the street, but they were lined up almost out the door, so we went to Ancaster to see if the new Texas grill place was open yet. They were lined up almost out the door, too, so we went to Jack Astor's. I got chicken strips, which were good except that they forgot the gravy for my fries, and when I did get my gravy it was so salty that I don't think I'll get it again. Now, I don't mind a bit of salt, but this gravy was ridiculously salty. And their fries were a tad over-seasoned, which was a bit disappointing.

Dad's on vacation now! :D I wonder if he'll take me and Mom to go yarn shopping in Toronto?

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. In a quick recap of last week, I went to the LYS's tent sale and got five skeins of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in a medium blue, two skeins of Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in Lilac, and the only skein I could find of S.R. Kertzer On Your Toes DK in... Mauve Meadow? I think???

Anyways. Today my cousin Justin came up. He's dog-sitting for us tomorrow while we're at my sister's university graduation, and he's coming to dinner with us in the evening. I think my mom said he's staying tomorrow night, too.

So today I got my hair cut. I got an angled bob, which looks neat. I plan on pinning the front sections back with my bluey hair clips. I might also experiment with my bobbley hair elastics. I told my mom after I got out of the chair that I have Sailor Mercury hair, lol.

After my haircut, we went to Giant Tiger, where I got some new PJs (they didn't have a blue set in my size :( ). We got some Cadbury chocolate biscuits, too, and some other stuff. And then we went to Toys R Us to get my sister a 'new car' - a toy car. Justin got some cute Hello Kitty cards and a puzzle for Grandma, and I decided to get some replacement Monopoly money for Katie's grad present ;) We also went to Denningers to get lunchmeat.

We had perogies for dinner (boughten from Denningers), and I tidied the spare bed for Justin (can't remember if this was before or after dinner). I also got some knitting done while me and Justin were watching TV - I worked on my house tie, because I don't have a size 8 circular to make the bobble pillow for Herbology. I have a size 9 one, though. Maybe I'll swatch with that this week.

I also packed my purse for the travel, because we're getting up at 5:30 and hoping to hit the rode around 6:00 or 6:15 - her grad is pretty early, and they're being strict on when they're going to stop letting people in. I have packed:

A Zip-Loc bag with my hair clips, a comb and a small mirror in it.
Two books (Blood and Chocolate and Tris's Book).
My emergency feminine hygiene products wallet.
A pack of gum.

I might also include a couple of tissues and maybe some hand lotion. My hands get pretty dry. I would bring knitting, but given that I'll be in pretty close quarters, I don't think that would be possible, even if it is on a circular needle.
