They got my order right this time! :D

We ordered Japanese take-out, and they got my order right! Last time I ordered katsu udon (pork cutlet and udon noodle soup) and instead got katsu don (pork cutlet on rice with egg and onions). This time I ordered something less confusing - tempura udon - and they got it right. I like that their tempura stays crisp, even for take-out.

Hmm, what else? Oh yeah, I did some exercises in the GED book, in the 'English - Writing' section. Because according to the diagnostic test, my punctuation is iffy. Anyway, I had to rewrite run-on sentences. At first I was putting punctuation marks in the book, and then I realised, "oh crap, I'm supposed to rewrite them". So I grabbed some paper. I did 13 sentences, and I got 12 right, so that's pretty good. The one I got wrong was something like "The telethon raised a great deal of money for muscular dystrophy it was entertaining." I thought it had to be "The telethon raised a great deal of money for muscular dystrophy, which was entertaining", but it was actually supposed to be "The telethon, which raised a great deal of money for muscular dystrophy, was entertaining." Grah. Also, I accidentally looked at the first answer :P

My sister is coming up this weekend :) She and Mom were talking on the phone about going to Winners. I might tag along.

A quick post to free me of boredom

It turned out that there WAS steak left. So I had some. It was really good - dry, but good.

So I discovered that I cannot buy a new tank on FishVille on Facebook because I need 11 neighbors... *sigh*. Oh well. I don't desperately need the second tank - I can upgrade my tank at level 10, and I'm level 8, almost level 9, so I'll make it work. Or my Facebook friends can play FishVille... *winkwink*...

I'm worried that I won't have enough yarn to finish the Calorimetry, so I may skip some rows and bind off early with some white yarn. The yarn I'm using right now is a teal mystery yarn. The Calorimetry is a bit big, too, so I'll have to shrink it in hot and cold water - I can't do it in the washing machine, because that would totally felt it.

The back of my left hand hurts from knitting...

Oh yeah, I also watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs today. It was pretty funny. And I have more manga to pick up when I take my DVDs back to the library - Fruits Basket 9! The branch I go to got their copy back on the shelf after I had already been to the library, so I thought, eh, it's in now, I'll reserve it.

Boredom...

I have 'Middle of the Road' by the Pretenders stuck in my head, so I have to get it out.

So, I forgot that Dad actually DID work today, and that Mom's appointment was for when he got home. Oh well. At least he'll have a normal weekend this week.

I finished going over the answer analysis stuff in my GED book. I think I'm gonna just skip the math diagnostic test, because I already know that my math knowledge is crap :p lol

Mom called up to me earlier that there was rice and sauce ready if I wanted some... but I guess they ate the steak :( Oh well, I might have a frozen burrito thing instead.

On the upside... Castle is new tonight :) And Uncle Brent dropped in yesterday, and he said that Heather's friend will be doing the family photos. I hope so, because I am NOT going back to Sears for family photos. That was a nightmare and a half.

Also, the Cake Wrecks book is in transit for me at the library, so I should get it in a week or two. It might even be at the library in time for when I have to take my DVDs back. And I finished Full Moon O Sagashite Vol. 2 today, including the cute bonus manga in the back of the book. It was really good - both the book and the bonus manga. I really want to start Stewart Copeland's autobiography now, but I also want to finish Blood & Chocolate :p

Greasy food

I had a bacon cheeseburger from Harvey's for dinner, because the Carribean take-out was closed. It's already starting to sit a little heavy on my chest. I might take Pepto-Bismol before bed.

So Erica has proven herself to be a total bitch once again. I sent her a reminder that she should play FishVille on Facebook, because I hadn't sent her one in a little while. She messaged me back and said: "I do not, and will not, play FishVille."

When I told Mom she said, "Oh, delete her from your Facebook friends." But I don't know if I want to do that. Maybe I keep convincing myself that she'll be a little nicer someday. Eh, I dunno. Even when we were younger, everything seemed to have to be about her. Like, for instance, her mother never wanted to bring her over to our house, we always had to come to them.

The Calorimetry might be too big, but I can shrink it down, I think. Either that, or I rip it and start over with the modifications. I dunno...

On a happier note... I had a nice afternoon of reading Full Moon O Sagashite and listening to the Bruce Springsteen album I have out of the library, Nebraska. It sounds a lot like The Ghost of Tom Joad - a lot of acoustic guitar and harmonica, and very little for drums and percussion. But the song lyrics themselves are different than those of the songs from The Ghost of Tom Joad.

Also, Dad is finished his overtime at work. He has tomorrow off for Mom's appointment at the doctor's, so that should be good for him. I feel sorry for him, because he'd come home from working overtime and be tired as hell and couldn't eat any dinner Mom made because he had already eaten at work... at least tomorrow he doesn't have to get up early for work, because he has the day off.

I was going to make some Oscars predictions yesterday, but I forgot :p

Look who's procrastinating

Uh-huh. Should be doing something 'constructive', but I'm not. The day is young, though.

So on Tuesday I watched It Might Get Loud. Thanks to Jack White, I'm now listening to White Stripes songs on YouTube. My sister would be proud - she keeps going on and on about how great the White Stripes are. I never hated them, but I didn't think Jack White was a great choice as a third-generation guitarist for the film, and thought that Billie Joe Armstrong would've been better. Now I say he was a good choice.

And last night I whacked the top of my foot on the underside of the downstairs fridge. Serves me right for not moving the heap of towels out of the way before walking past the fridge. So when I walk down to the library later, I'll have to put a bandaid on my foot.

The Calorimetry is going alright. I think the yarn is part-wool, because I was able to snap a piece off the skein, so I won't put it in the washing machine. I'll probably hand-wash it in the bathroom sink with my Eucalan woolwash so that it'll tighten up a little.

Today's happenings

Today I started a Calorimetry - that is, a second one. The first was an epic fail, because I used Patons Decor, which draped like you wouldn't believe. Anyway, it was too big. I'm hoping this one will work out. Someone on Ravelry steered me towards someone's modifications because a lot of people had the too big problem, but I've already started it, so I'll just keep going. It was nice of her, though.

Also, Grandpa wants to get some new family photos taken (don't ask... long story). I say: only if I get to wear my Led Zeppelin shirt. Or at least something punk-y.

I should be working in my GED book.

But instead, I'm blogging. I know Mom's gonna yell at me to work in my GED book soon, but I don't care. I can work on my GED in the evening if I want.

I didn't finish for the Ravelympics, which was a bummer. But hey, you can't win 'em all.

I've been trying to come up with a project for the Potions assignment for HPKCHC, and I think I've got one in mind: a headband. The assignment is to make something that protects you against evil, so a headband would protect against the evil of flyaway locks... right?

I watched Ghost yesterday. It's a really good movie. Patrick Swayze was really handsome ;) I was a little sad when he died, though not as heartbroken as a lot of people because I didn't know his work that well.

I might do some writing later. I'm itching to finish my ghost hunters story, and now I want to finish my Labyrinth fanfiction. I think I'll work on the fanfiction today...
