I should be eating...

But instead I'm blogging! Funny how that works. ROFLMAO!

I have another pointless orthodontist appointment, BUT, I get to go to the downtown library book sale after! Yay! After that I might ask Dad to help me get my camera software installed before he goes out for chicken wings with guys from work. I think it's guys from work, anyhow, because he doesn't generally go out for wings unless it's with co-workers.

I think I'm done the brim of my hat, which makes me happy. I might have to wait to work on it, though, because Mom doesn't think she has a 16 inch circular needle in a size 7. Aw, shucks, I might just have to go to Len's to buy a circ, and casually sneak over to the final sale yarn to see if there's any Moda Dea left... ;)

Totally forgot to talk about the sorting!

Yup, yesterday us HPKCHC-ers got sorted. I was placed in....

Wait for it...

RAVENCLAW!!!!!

Yep! I got into Ravenclaw! I've already signed up for two classes - Ancient Runes and Charms. I would have signed up for Herbology, but the thread is locked because the assignment isn't up yet. I'm going to start planning for the Ancient Runes assignment tonight :D

I might use a notebook to keep track of project ideas, actually. I'll have to look around my room for a mostly blank notebook :p Maybe I'll use the one with the Degas painting printed on it... I think it's 'Blue Dancers'. Degas sure liked his dancers!

Hah, I just realised that my Degas notebook contains one of Ravenclaw's colours :p

Or maybe I'll buy a cheap notebook at the independent dollar store near my house. They have some nice notebooks for, like, under $5. I got my Degas notebook there, actually.

In other news, I went to an orthodontist appointment today. They wound up taking another impression of my bottom teeth and making me a new bottom retainer. This time it's a retainer that covers all of my bottom teeth instead of the front four, like my old one did. And it's thicker, too, so I won't wear through it like I did with my very first bottom retainer (before the bottom-front-four-teeth retainer). The traffic on the way was horrendous - there was an accident near the hospital where Grandma's staying in now (they moved her back to the first hospital she was at before her 30-day physio at the second hospital). They had a good stretch of road blocked off with pylons, so it must've been pretty bad. That, and the first time I went down to the ortho office (I had to come back in the afternoon to pick up my new retainer), the parking was terrible. It usually is at that office, because the building the ortho office is in has such minimal parking. And when we tried parking in the spaces for the dance studio next door, some guy came up to us and told us that there was 'no parking here'. Jerk...

It's Friday! :D I'm probably going to the library tomorrow to take stuff back and pick stuff up. I might browse a little while I'm there, too.

How many orthodontists does it take to change a lightbulb?

I came up with htis little joke before leaving for my orthodontist appointment. It goes...

Q: How many orthodontists does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: I don't know, they're always overbooked.

Hehe :)

Actually, today wasn't too bad, for an afternoon appointment, although it could've gone by quicker if they didn't book so many people in the afternoons. I still have to wear that stupid partial retainer on my bottom teeth, the one that only covers the bottom-front teeth.

And why oh why do I always see cute guys in the orthodontist's office? There was one guy who was quite cute, seated in the other row of dentist chairs. Then he got moved to the chair beside his, and I was moved to his old chair, so that was pretty awesome. He wears retainers, too. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name. Dammit!

Another upside to the appointment was, well, two things. The first is that I did a good deed - someone came in while I was waiting to be called in for my appointment, and a piece of paper came out of her coat. It looked like a bus transfer slip or something. I walked over, picked it up and asked, "Did someone drop this?" One of the young women who came in said it was hers, and thanked me when I handed it to her. The second thing was that one of the hygienists changed the radio station to that Christmas music station in Boston Buffalo... I think. Sweet! :)

In other news, I found out today that we - that is, me, mom, dad and Katie (I'm not sure about Dan) - are going over to my grandparents for lunch on Sunday. Now, as much as I dislike going to the Unitarian church now that Reverend Barrett is gone, I hope we can get to this week's service, because I think it's the inter-generational service, meaning that the Sunday School kids might be singing, or involved in the service in some way.

So... what should I wear to my grandparents' house on Sunday? My 'Dangerously Overeducated' shirt? I would break out my 'Things They Don't Teach You in School' shirt, but it has holes in it. Oh well.

Or maybe I could wash my 'Tact is for people who aren't witty enough to be sarcastic' shirt and wear that!

I hate my orthodontist.

I had an orthodontist appointment today. Jolly good fun. Not.

First of all, thanks to a former mayor, two-way streets became one-way, and vice versa. And one woman was blocking a lane by sitting there, in her car, with her right-turn signal on, even though there was a line of parked cars at her right. Dad swerved around her, and she gave us the finger. Nice lady.

At the ortho office, I saw a pretty hot-looking guy, pardon my language. Normally, bling turns me off pronto, but this guy looked cool. There was another guy who was nice-looking (I think his name was Kyle, actually), with long reddish-blondish hair.

So, at my appointment, I told my orthodontist that my bottom retainer was wrecked. It was cracked on one side and had a hole in the other side. So instead of having a full bottom retainer made, he gets someone to make a partial one that fits over my bottom-front teeth! He said that a full bottom retainer would just pop up in the back, but this partial one pops up, too! And I've already managed to crack it - I think I was feeling around my mouth with my tongue and it cracked and made the underside of my tongue bleed! Vicious little thing!

And Dad yelled at me to stop complaining. Uh, Dad, shut up.

I really should've been doing more schoolwork this week, but with the roof being fixed up, it was too noisy to concentrate. And now I have a headache. I might brush up on my algebra today, but I'm not promising 100% correct answers.

Ah, Bob Seager...

So I went to an orthodontist appointment today, because I still have retainers, even though I forget to wear the bottom one - I couldn't wear the top one for a little while, because of a membrane on my top gums, but now that the membrane is gone, they're making a new top retainer for me to wear when my fake tooth, or 'flipper', is out, because I take my flipper out when I sleep.

The awesome part of the visit was that, when I was called in, I heard the last bit of Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler on the yesterday-and-today radio station that they had on, and right after that the station played Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seager. When I hear it, I picture Tom Cruise dancing around... Never saw Risky Business, but I saw the scene on Oprah.

And then, on our way home, my dad and I heard Bloody Well Right by Supertramp :)
