Youth group was AWESOME.

Youth group was pretty cool last night. I haven't seen Sela in a while. We're not exactly bosom buddies, but I'm jsut curious as to why I haven't seen her at meetings.

We're going to paint the loft. I'm a bit sad about this, but it really does need to be painted. We had to sand down the rough edges from where past members of the youth group had stenciled on designs, because the whole surface needed to be a bit smoother for when the primer goes on the walls. We're keeping the wall to the right plain so that we can project stuff on it, but the other walls are probably going to be an apple green. I won't be able to bring music because, by the sound of it, it'll all be mp3 players because someone has an iPod dock thingy, and I have no iPod. So.... yeah. Dammit. Emma won't be there by the sound of it because of soccer stuff. I don't know if I'll be going yet, but I hope I can go. We're also going to help with the other painting in the church.

Gah, I slept in until 11-ish this morning, and I didn't actually come upstairs until close to 12:00. I was on my computer at 4-ish, and I didn't even realise what time it really was until I heard my dad come home, and I was like, holy crap, it feels like noon, but it's 4-ish!

graaaaaagh.

I have to finish Justin's scarf tomorrow. And my hood. And my fingerless gloves.

Okay, I'm a lazy blogger.

But really, not a lot has happened.

I went to Michael's yesterday to get some yarn (even though I'm supposed to be de-stashing) for a project I intend on starting. I won't say what, in case someone reads it and spills. Then today I went to Len's to get a button for my ruff. I got a pair of sparkly star shank buttons, which I think will go well with the blur yarn. I'm not sure what I'll do with the second button - maybe I'll make a purse.

I've also joined the Teen RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) group on Ravelry. It's already quite fun.

The destashing is going well. I used up a skein of blue acrylic for that ruff, nearly a skein of Lion Brand Imagine on my mobius wrap, and some Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. I also might use up my Knit Picks Wool of the Andes by making a felted punk tie, and I cast on for a pair of fingerless gloves, which will use up some of my black DK. I also used just over a skein of my Berella Whistler by making my hood, but I still need to make the ties, which will use more Whistler of the same colour.

Other than that, there's nothing else to report. I only got one decent shot of the yarn I just got, so I'll put up photos in another post when I get a decent shot of the darker colour. I'll also take a photo of the buttons.

This pattern is such a nice, quick pattern. I love it. I only have an inch or two left, I think, before I have to do the three-needle bind-off. Fun. I've never done that before, so it'll be.... interesting.

In other news, I put the U2 album that I bought at the Streetfest on the computer. War is such a good album. My favourite track off of the album would have to be either 'New Year's Day' or 'Seconds', and 'Two Hearts Beat As One' is also great.
