The new HPKCHC assignments have been posted, and I'm trying to decide what to make. There are a bunch of assignments that I like, so it's tough to decide on what to attempt first. The month is still young, though.
Also, the new items got added to the library catalog yesterday, so right at 6:00 I raced upstairs to fire up my computer. I went through the new CDs first, and they had added a couple of Freddie Mercury albums and a Queen album that I had sent in purchase requests for, so that made me happy. They also added a live Sting album, which I reserved. After that I went through the DVDs and found lots to reserve: Cop Out, a Peanuts collection, the fourth season of Doc Martin, Skellig (which is based on a really good book by David Almond - I highly recommend it)... I think there was one or two other DVDs, but I can't remember the names. I didn't reserve a lot of books, just a couple of knitting books and a National Geographic book.
Some idiots were in the alley yesterday setting off fireworks in broad daylight. Yes, daylight. It started at around 11:30 in the morning, I think. One of them actually made me jump while I was on my computer.
That's all, I think.
I've got an itch to make dishcloths. Making them can qualify as a House Cup assignment - Charms, 'Banishing stash or WIPs'. You see, I have some cotton that I want to use up. Originally, I was going to make a Ballband Dishcloth (you know, the pattern from the Peaches & Creme ballband), but I'm not sure if I have enough of two colours, so when I do make one I'll use two full skeins. I'm thinking of making some basic on-the-bias garter stitch dishcloths, like the Grandma's Favourite pattern, but I'll probably use the pattern from the Bernat Handicrafter ballband to save me from printing off the pattern, because I'm pretty sure the Bernat one is the same thing.
Phew.
I should write a parody song of 'Catscratch Fever' and call it 'Dishcloth Fever', lol.
In other news, Daylight Savings Time is messing up my head. I think it's messing up my stomach, too, because my internal clock is still an hour behind. Probably by the end of the week I'll get used to the time change.
I had a relaxing morning with the house to myself, because Mom and Dad went to look a glasses for Mom. So I listened to a few Galaxie music channels and read a bit of The Manga Guide to Physics, which was fun. They went out again later, so I had a bit more time to myself, so I read a bit of Blood And Chocolate. At one point I got up and started pacing/dancing, because 'I Want You To Want Me' by Cheap Trick came on ;)
It's a little over three weeks until Easter Sunday, and I'm already plotting my outfit. I want it to be daring - I might wear my Led Zeppelin shirt and my pleather jacket (pleather=plastic leather). If it's warm enough, I want to wear my navy blue cotton skirt that I got from Value Village.
Okay, so that was a rip-off of Doyle's 'me and lactose are bros' line in an episode of Gilmore Girls. Believe it or not, I don't remember that quote.
But anyway. I say 'Snoopy and Giles are bros' because today I worked on my Snoopy dishcloth whilst watching season one of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So far I've only watched the first disc - the first four episodes - but already I love it. I didn't really get to watch it when the first season originally ran on TV, because I was too young. And my Snoopy dishcloth is blossoming. I might have it done by Monday or Tuesday, even. I'm at the belly and back of Snoopy. Sounds weird, but it's true.
So, Buffy. I like. Specifically, I like Willow and Giles. And Buffy. And pretty much the whole cast, lol. I might watch more tomorrow, if possible (i.e. if my parents don't hog the TV), and I'll probably work on the dishcloth some more. Or my cowl. Probably the dishcloth, so that I can say over and over in my head, "Snoopy and Giles are bros." Haha. I just keep grinning because of the awesomeness of that show. And the awesomeness of Snoopy, of course.
I watched The Wedding Singer today, and it was awesome. Adam Sandler is so cute in it, with that curly mullet! And BILLY IDOL has a cameo in it. He's amazingly gorgeous. I was close to having a crazy-screaming-fan-girl moment.
Also, I started a Snoopy dishcloth for Herbology. I started it while watching The Wedding Singer, but ripped it out and started again because it looked weird on the wrong side. What a fussbudget I am.
